Morning bell 🔔

Before the holidays, we noticed that it was taking some time for children to make their way to the lines when the bell rings at 9am especially if they are enjoying playing on the grass or the trim trail.

We have therefore decided to introduce a bell at 8.55am to alert the children that it is time to gather their belongings and make their way to their lines where staff will bring them in promptly at 9am to start their day.

The doors at Base 1 will continue to be opened at 8.50am for Primary 1’s to have a soft start to their day.

Welcome!

We are delighted to introduce you to the new members of our staff team – Mrs Hope, Mrs Babington, Miss Dasgupta, Miss Kinnaird, Mr Beattie, Miss Fyvie and Mr Hay.

We are all looking forward to welcoming our children back to school on Monday 19th August at 9am for another busy and exciting year at Gargieston Primary School & ECC 😊

**Wider Achievements**

Our final wider achievement assembly of the session will take place on Friday 28th June.

Children who have achieved success outside school during the month of June and would like to share their medals or certificates should bring them into school tomorrow or Friday.

Thank you

Running Club

Our running club has now finished for this school session.  Thank you so much to all the children who have attended.  They have demonstrated commitment and determination and we have seen some great improvements in their fitness levels over the course of the year – well done!

I would also like to thank Mrs Robertson and Mrs Dyet who have joined us regularly for a Wednesday morning run with their children.  Finally, thanks to Mrs Baird (who has barely missed a week!) and all the other members of staff who have supported our club.  We have even bigger and better plans for next session – keep your eyes peeled when we return for more information 🙂

It’s A Girl!

Many congratulations to Mrs Smith and her husband on the safe arrival of their beautiful baby daughter Sophie who was born on 8th June.

We can’t wait to meet her!

Wider Achievement Assembly

Our next Wider Achievement Assembly will be on Monday 3rd June.

Any children with medals or certificates should bring them into school on Friday 31st May.

Gargieston Primary School App

Please check your childs school bag today for this flyer launching our Gargieston Primary School App.  The app is free to download and will make it much easier for you to keep updated with all communication from the school.

Ask your children about the competition message which will be sent out via the app on Thursday this week.  House points are up for grabs!!

Trim Trail Official Opening

What a lovely afternoon we had yesterday at the official opening of our Trim Trail.  The whole school were joined outside by invited guests from East Ayrshire Council and community partners who have supported the project.  The ribbon was cut by Provost Todd, Mrs Work and Mrs Patton and they also unveiled a plaque kindly donated by Mr Wallace at Ayrshire Signs and Graphics.

A group of children demonstrated their skills on the Trim Trail and were followed by Provost Todd who entertained everyone with his attempt to tackle each part of the structure!

Our children are so lucky to have this fabulous play structure in their own playground and we would like to express our thanks once again to the GFG, PTC, the wider parent body and community partners who have turned a dream into reality for our children.

Many thanks also to Mrs Sanders from Love Lila Photography for capturing the joy of this special event for us.
