Running Club off to a great start!

Well done to these P5’s who enjoyed their first session at running club today.  We had a fantastic turn out & hope to keep our numbers high throughout the session.

We also had a great run at lunchtime with 21 P6 children.

We are always looking for parents to join us as we progress through the year.  If you would like to run with us at 8.30am or 12.30pm on a Wednesday, please contact Mrs McKee at the school.

Be The Nice Kid

We were delighted to receive delivery of this sign today from Owen Kerr Signs.  This will be displayed in our playground as a visible reminder to all children to always strive to be ‘the nice kid’ 🙂

Community Event at Dundonald Castle

Historic Environment Scotland have organised a community event on Sunday 29th September 12-4pm, with a tented village on the castle hill. Actors will re-enact the different time periods of the castle from an iron age chief to the present day. Archaeologists will also be on site for visitors to chat to and see what they have been finding during their digs so far.

School Values in Action

This morning, Miller Stewart was the worthy recipient of the first Gold card of the session.  Our Gold cards, earning 100 House points, are saved for very special occasions where our children demonstrate our school values in action.

With permission from Miller, I have shared his letter which explains beautifully why his actions were recognised with a Gold card.  I know that Reece was extremely touched by Miller’s kindness and I’m sure that Gavin Robertson’s family will be too.

Well done Miller – you are a credit to your family and our school.  We are very proud of you!

Are you looking for something active to do with the family this weekend?   This event will take place on Saturday  7th September with the whole cycle route taking place on closed roads in Ayr.  What a great opportunity for families to get out in the fresh air and cycle safely!
