Our Award Winning Intergenerational Project

We are delighted that our innovative Intergenerational Project was recognised with two awards at the Generations Working Together National Conference today.

We are incredibly proud of our intergenerational work and the positive impact it has on our children and our friends at Springhill and Howard House.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the project and many thanks to Laura Haggarty for her continued support.

Gargie Guides

Congratulations to these Primary 6 pupils who were successful in their application to be a Gargie Guide.

They are looking forward to spending time with the pre-schoolers in our ECC and will play a vital role in supporting the children as they prepare for their transition into Primary 1.

P5 Running Club

What a great turnout for our first P5 running club of 2019!  21 children, 2 staff and 3 Mums getting 3k done before 9am.

We discussed setting ourselves the target of a 5k event this term and the children were very keen.  More information to follow…….

Scottish Cup Tour

We had an exciting start to the day as the first East Ayrshire school to host the Scottish Cup on its tour.  Our football teams were desperate to get their hands on the cup!! Many thanks to Mr Hay for organising this great experience for our children.

What happens in Gargieston during In-Service Days?

We hope that you have all enjoyed your week off school.  Hopefully the children have all been out enjoying the good weather.

The staff have been very busy over the past 3 days sharing information and making progress with:

  • Our school improvement plan
  • New EAC reporting formats
  • Self evaluation
  • STEM
  • Coding
  • Moderation with the Grange Education Group
  • GIRFEC and the ASN agenda

And we also enjoyed a visit from Mr Smith, a lovely buffet lunch from Mrs Patton and a baby shower for Mrs Kerr.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 18th February at 9am.

Have a lovely weekend 🙂

Well done to all our children who shared their Wider Achievements with us at assembly.  What a lot of talented children we have!

It is lovely to hear of our children showcasing their talents outwith school.  Congratulations to Evie, Ross and Lauren who represented Gargieston PS at a cello concert held in Kilwinning Abbey on Sunday afternoon.
