Thinking Day

What is World Thinking Day?

World Thinking Day is celebrated on 22nd February each year. It is celebrated around the world by 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 150 countries. Additionally, some boy-orientated organisations also celebrate this day. World Thinking Day is a global event where children are encouraged to think about their ‘sisters’ or ‘brothers’ that are in similar groups around the world.

World Thinking Day Themes

Each year, World Thinking Day has a theme attached to it, listed below are the last few years:
2016: Connect
2017: Grow
2018: Impact
2019: Leadership
In 2020, World Thinking Day will embrace the theme of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Guiding and Scouting values and respects people for who they are, during the day this year, these organisations will recognise the importance of working to build a world where everyone feels included, all around the world.

This year some pupils have asked if they can wear their Brownie/Guide/Beaver/Scout uniform to help with this recognition. We feel that this would be a lovely way to show inclusion and look forward to seeing children in their uniform on Friday 21st should they wish to do so.
