JRSO 2020 Announcement

Hello! We are the JRSO P7 girls – our names are Lucy, Isla C, Anna, and Sophie P.  We would like to say a message about parking.

Many parents drop their children off on the roundabout and at the end of the day parents wait on the roundabout to collect their children.  This is an issue because children at the end of the day will be walking home most of the time in groups so this means more than 1 child would be injured if you were to knock them over with your car.   Also another issue is that you are not meant to drop your kids off on the roundabout, you don’t park on roundabouts anywhere else! Don’t do it here.

We have many parking spaces but please do not go into the staff car park because this is for staff only.   We also have a drop off zone; it is located to the right when you come into the school.  Please do not park there because it is not an official parking space so if you are dropping of a child who is unable to walk into the playground themselves, please park in our main parking zone.  The previous JRSO’s have put up cones to stop people from parking in the wrong space and or on the kerb.  So please listen and don’t park on the kerb or on corners or over driveways in the streets around the school. Thank you so much for reading this post and please try your best to follow these simple rules.

From the JRSO’s

ECC stay and play days

To allow parents/carers a true reflection of their child’s learning at Gargieston ECC we are providing you with the opportunity to “stay and play” on a session of your choice in order for you to explore what experiences are on offer for your child to investigate on a daily basis. You can stay for as much of the session as you would like. Please sign up for this experience on our sheet displayed in our cloakroom. Please be aware only one adult can attend per session. If your child has just started with us we ask that you wait until a later date to sign up for this experience as we would like to give them time to settle into the ECC without their parent/carer. Thank you.

P7 After School Hockey

Miss Davidson’s after school hockey club for Primary 7 children will restart next Thursday (16th January). Those who attended the club last term do not need permission again but any new members should see Miss Davidson for a letter.
The club will continue to run on Thursdays from 3:15-4:15pm. Remember to bring appropriate outdoor clothing and shoes.
Please let Miss Davidson know if collection arrangements have changed (ie. if your child was previously allowed to walk home and is now going to be collected).

Christmas Fayre Final Total

I am delighted to tell you that, following the further sale of raffle tickets at the Infant and ECC Nativities, the official final amount of money raised from the Christmas Fayre is the fabulous total of £4250.41. Thanks you so much to everyone whose efforts contributed to this – parents, pupils, grandparents and school and ECC staff. This money will allow us to purchase additional resources within the school and ECC to enhance the learning and teaching for all our children. Thank you all so much.

East Ayrshire Regional Gymnastics Qualifiers

We have received information regarding an East Ayrshire Schools gymnastics team competition which will take place on Friday 24th January at Auchinleck Academy.  Each team would have either 3 or 4 gymnasts. We would like to invite experienced gymnasts from Primary 4 to 7 who would like to take part to contact Mrs Lawson for more details as soon as possible, as the closing date for entries is Friday – 10th January.

Many thanks.
