Group 5 Circle Time Wednesday 22nd April
Hello Everyone,
Today I am feeling like Mr. Slow. I am on a go slow today, I think I must be a bit tired!
Who do you feel like today?
Today is going to be nice and sunny again. Did you manage to do any jobs outside yesterday? I know that Leah spent sometime outside practising darts in her garden and Derek has been outside walking the dog. I washed my car. It was very dirty!
For movement today you could go outside and do some exercises. How about trying some of these …
I am going to try it. To spell out Sarah I will have to bend down and touch my toes 20 times (S), jump up and down 10 times (a), walk like a bear (r), jump up and down 10 times (a) and hop like a frog 8 times (h). I think I can manage that. Let me know how you get on with your exercises.
For Literacy check out Laura’s posts in the Literacy and Language sections and then for PE find out what Pedro is up to in the PE section.
After break it is time for a story. Today’s story is going to be My Naughty Little Sister goes Fishing. Check the blog at 10.30 to access that story.
After that check out Sign of the day with Lorna.
Steve has some great Art activities for you to do. I think I am going to try drawing Mike Wazowski. Maybe I will post my attempts later!
After lunch it is time for Science so catch up on my posts from before Easter or check out the new posts at 1.15pm.
Finally for Health and Wellbeing I think we all deserve a chill time. Find somewhere comfortable to relax and listen to some calming music. I will be listening to this …
Have a great day and remember to let me know what you have been up to.
Sarah

New project – metal and electronics
Hi guys,
Here’s a new video for you to watch. It involves something that some of my senior phase pupils have tried – soldering. In this video I am making an electronic part which will make something work. Tune into this video to find out what’s happening!

Metalwork project – finished item!
Hi guys,
I went ahead and finished up the stove. I have attached some pictures for you to look at. Have a think about the stove and these questions;
How did it end up that colour?
Which bit do you think the fire gets lit in?
What would happen if I had made a stove out of wood instead of metal?
What other things are in your house which are made of metal? Try looking in the kitchen, the garden, maybe even in your bedroom. Why are they made out of metal? Why not plastic or stone?
Speak soon guys, stay safe!
Measuring and marking – Activity
Hello everyone, at last there is room on the blog! So here is a worksheet for the ‘measuring and marking’ video at the beginning of the stove project. If you can’t remember the answers, check back to the first CDT video. measuring and marking
