Calderwood Commitments:

• Donations can be made on iPay 19th to 23rd February for dress down day.
• 21/02/24 – 28/02/24: Tickets for Aladdin will be on sale to P5 families only on iPay, a maximum of 4 tickets per family, per performance will be available.
• 29/02/24 – 06/03/24: Tickets for Aladdin available to the whole school on iPay. First come, first served.
• 08/03/24 – 15/03/24: Champion Conservations Open Online to book Letter issued with instructions about how to book an appointment with your child’s champion.

Calderwood Communication:

• Today at Connects we reminded our clans of our ready, respectful and safe behaviours in the playground to their peers, other children and champions. We discussed with the clans, how our playground is a no hands on playing area, this includes excessive hugging by putting your hands around children’s necks and games where you ‘barge’ or nudge each other. We would appreciate your support by also having this conversation with your child at home. Children who choose not to follow our ready, respectful and safe playground charter may have a consequence which could include; restorative conversation, time out, letter or phone call home You can find out more information about our lunch time routines here.

• Due to changing in staffing the non contact times for some clans have changed. You can find their times and champions here.
• There have been a few concerns reported about the carpark this week including: Cars cutting across the carpark to park in disabled bays instead of following the signs for the one way system; cars parking in the accessible parking bays without a badge, meaning there are no spaces left for those who require the bays; stopping at the entrance to pick up children. We would request if you are choosing to use the car park, that you please use it safely and are considerate of others.

Calderwood Compliments:

• Today we say a fond farewell for now, to Mrs McGarvey. We send lots of luck and well wishes, as she starts her maternity leave and will wait with patience and excitement for her news! She will be greatly missed at Calderwood for the next wee while, by the champs, Ben Clans and our families.
• Bluebell and Bramble clans had a Calderwood first this week as the visited Edinburgh Playhouse to watch Shrek: The Musical! They clans were fantastic, showing manners and respect during our visit. Thank you to all the champs who made the excursion possible.

Calderwood Compliments:

• A huge well done to Mrs McLaren who took part in the sleep rough campaign at the weekend, to raise awareness of homelessness. So far she has raised £1300 for the Steps to Hope charity.
• Dundee Clan had an informative and creative Calderwood Connects this week all about the rainforest! Thank you to all the families who could join us.
