P7 Cross Country
Well done to the 8 boys and 8 girls from P7 that ran at the Livingston South P7 Cross Country at Bankton Mains Park. Both the girls and boys team came in 1st place and will now compete at the West Lothian P7 Cross Country in November. A special mention to Poppy who came 3rd overall in the girls race and finished on the podium. Well done team!

Calderwood Ski Team
5 Calderwood Pupils participated in the SSSA qualifier at Polmont on Monday 6th October. They all had a brilliant morning and worked so well together as a team to represent their school. They came 4th Overall in their category, narrowly missing 3rd place by 1 second! For our first team outing, we are incredibly proud of them all and encouraged by such a strong start. The 5 who raced have quickly picked up the racing bug and cannot wait to take part in the next event. More information will be shared in the coming weeks about skiing opportunities for pupils at Calderwood. Thank you to the parents for organising this.

Ben Lomond and Ben Lawers- Foxlake Adventures
On Tuesday, Ben Lomond and Ben Lawers went on an exciting trip to Foxlake Adventures in Dunbar for a leavers’ trip. P7 worked on team building and resilience, while tackling the inflatable aqua park. We had a fantastic time and lots of fun! We would like to say a big thank you to Miss Stark for organising and our parent helper for accompanying us.

Scottish Primary School Glee Challenge 2024
We are so proud of our wonderful Stag Squad, who took part in the Scottish Primary School Glee Challenge Edinburgh and Lothians Sectionals at Central Hall in Edinburgh on Thursday the 18th of April. The Stag Squad were competing against 6 other amazing choirs.
Our Stag Squad were excellent and the scores in the sectional were extremely close, but unfortunately they did not make it through to the Regional Finals this year.
The children gave really great, high energy performances of both of their songs and had a really fun evening.
Some feedback from the judges was that they absolutely loved Stag Squad’s version of “The Whole of the Moon”. The Stag Squad gave a superb, polished performance that showcased their wonderful teamwork, beautiful vocals and lovely movement. They displayed great volume and energy, which really filled the auditorium with sound.
Huge thanks to everyone who came along to support our Stag Squad on the evening, and to our fabulous champions Miss Truesdale, Miss McEwan and Mrs Love who spent time rehearsing with the Stag Squad and accompanying them to the event.

Almond Valley Trip
Tummel, Tay, Rannoch, Leven and the P2s from Linlithgow had the best day at Almond Valley this week. We learned all about shale and the mining that used to happen in West Lothian. We saw lots of animals and learned about their habitat and what they eat. We also had lots of fun in the park. Thank you to all the adults who helped us on our trip.
