Calderwood Celebrates Gala Art Competition Success!

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievements of some of our talented learners in the recent P5–7 Gala Art Competition!

A huge congratulations to our Ness clan winners:

  • πŸ₯‡ Isabella – 1st place
  • πŸ₯ˆ Isla I – 2nd place
  • πŸ₯‰ Perry – 3rd place

These are incredible accomplishments, and we are so proud of the creativity, effort and skill shown in their artwork.

A very special congratulations also goes to Advik, who was named the overall winner of the competition! This is a remarkable achievement, and a true reflection of the talent and dedication shown.

Events like this are a wonderful opportunity for our learners to express themselves, and it’s fantastic to see their hard work recognised and celebrated within the wider community.

Well done to you all – we are so proud of you!

Primary 1 Parents – Thank you!

Hi P1 (Shetland, Orkney and Mull Clan) Parents,

We have had a very special first week in Primary 1. We have had lots of fun and excitement across all Clans. We look forward to sharing our journey with you as we settle into Primary 1. The children have shown great resilience, ambition and confidence in their learning spaces; we are so proud of them!

Thank you to our Primary 1 Parents for supporting us and your child through this significant transition. You have been amazing!

To keep things moving forward and encouraging our P1’s to have more independence, we ask that you drop your child to the zoned area of the playground in the morning, after 8:30am. Here they will be greeted by our Pupil Support Champions. You may leave your child to play here with their friends before they enter school with their Clan Champion at 8:50am.

At the end of the day Shetland Clan will use the left side of the playground as a pick up point (nearest the wooden fence), Orkney Clan will use the middle of the playground (nearest the stairs and bench) and Mull Clan will use the right side of the playground (nearest the nursery). This allows your child to become more independent, clearly see and be able to tell/show their Clan Champion who is picking them up.

We thank you for your co-operation and support during your child’s first week of school. We are looking forward to the journey ahead!

Into Primary 1 Social Stories

Please find below some social stories Miss Miller has created for Primary 1, which we thought might be useful for all our children.

The classrooms will look a bit different in August (more Primary 1 friendly) but the locations will be the same.
