P1/2 Have had a busy week!

The highlight of our week has to have been our Christmas party where we had a very special visitor!  We had great fun playing games and dancing with our friends.

We have been completing lots of different Christmas activities and are looking forward to taking home all of our surprises on Monday (maybe don’t look too closely in their bags that day!)

Now that our nativity is over we have been rehearsing for the carol service next week when some of us will be reprising our nativity roles to help the whole school celebrate Christmas.  We have been working hard to remember the new songs and all of the different places we have to sit.  Mrs Ferguson, Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Thomson are very proud of how well we are doing.

Snowy Fun

We have had fun playing out in the snow today.  Ayla liked building snowmen.  Kieran enjoyed making ice men with his friends.  Josh made lots of hand and foot prints in the snow.  Samantha and Sarah did some ice skating while Izaak and Alexander busily worked to make an ice gate!  Daniel enjoyed making a snow angel and Matthew even practised writing his letters and numbers in the snow!  We are all back in our warm classroom now and are ready for our milk and a Christmas story.

Primary 1b Update

This has been a short week but we have been very busy!  We have been looking at even and odd numbers
in maths.  Lily and Oskar enjoyed making their
‘Even Steven’ posters for this.

Rachel enjoyed using her cutting skills to make an animal
mask for Handa’s Surprise.  We are going
to use them for some drama work later on.

Ava enjoyed swapping her book in the library.  Caiden has had lots of fun with playing with
his friends this week.

P1 Update

This week we have been working on time and have worked hard at reading and ordering the days of the week.  We have retold the story of Hansel and Gretel thinking about the beginning, middle and end of the story.  Our Cinderella display is taking longer than we thought but we are starting to see all of the pieces coming together!

Mackenzie has enjoyed looking at the story of Hansel and Gretel.  Oskar realley liked paired reading with his buddy this week.  Emma has enjoyed playing with her friends in the structured play area this week.

We found Cinderella’s lost slipper!

We discovered Cinderella’s lost slipper in our classroom.  This gave us some more ideas about what to build for Fairyland.  We have been busy planning our Cinderellas display and have started to make some of the things we will need.

Kai has enjoyed writing about his outfit for the royal wedding.  Iona has enjoyed her gym classes this week.  Owen has liked trying to count in steps of 2, 5 and 10!

What a Great Week!

This week in Primary 1 we had another visit from the Friendly Dragon.  He left us some castle books so we can keep him posted about the things we are doing to help him.  We used beans this week to help us work out different ways of making 9.  Kayla really enjoyed doing this work.  Louise also said that the stories of 9 work was fun.  Charles enjoyed painting our Jack for the wall.

We have been looking at the ‘sh’ and ‘th’ sounds this week.  We especially enjoyed being allowed to stick our toungues out for the ‘th’ sound!

Ava has had fun this week having lunch with her friends and Skye couldn’t decide on one thing to say as she has liked everything about this week!
