Good morning boys and girls,
What a year we have had!
I know that it has been very strange and not what we were expecting. You were a brilliant class when we were together and I have been extremely proud of the work that I have received since we have been using the blog. Thank you so much to everyone that had uploaded work and sent messages. It has been so good to hear from you.
Our summer holidays begin on Wednesday at 1pm. This week I thought that it would be nice to plan a celebration for the end of the year. I have uploaded a grid of activities to help you plan and organise this. Remember that you can send me a picture of any work that you want me to see to gw19auchinraithhl@glow.sch.uk.
I have also uploaded a word cloud for you so that you can remember all of your P1a friends.
Here comes the Summer Holidays
Although I am sad that I am no longer going to be your teacher I know that you will all keep trying to be the best that you can be and I cant wait to see you back in school in August.
Have a fabulous summer!

Here Comes Summer!!!!
Good Morning Boys and Girls, I hope you all had a super weekend and had lots of fun with your families. Remember you can leave me a comment on the blog to let me know what you got up to.
Your tasks for this week are a little bit different. As we are approaching the summer holidays they are all focussed around the theme of ‘Here Comes Summer!’
You can choose which activities you do each day but please try to attempt as many as you can over the next week. Your Summer activity grid is attached below, I hope you have fun completing the activities. I would love to see you completing these tasks, please send any completed work or pictures to gw19auchinraithhl@glow.sch.uk or tell me about what you have been doing in the comments below.
Below are some extra resources to allow you to complete some tasks from the grid.

To make things a little bit more exciting, I have also planned a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) challenge for you to complete. The winner of the challenge might even get a little prize!
Email pictures of your challenge entry to gw19auchinraithhl@glow.sch.uk by Friday 19.06.20.
Good luck!

Good morning Logan. I’m sorry I didn’t reply to your work yesterday but my internet wasn’t working so I didn’t see it. What super literacy and numeracy work you have been doing. I can see a huge improvement in the size of your writing. It is very neat and is all sitting on the lines. I am very proud of this work and you should be too. The letter to your primary 2 teacher looks great. I am going to miss being your teacher but I know you will be a super p2 boy and I can’t wait to see you all back at school. I loved the picture of you and I at the drawing table. You loved to draw. I have been drawing and colouring in during lockdown to relax. Thank you for sending me this super work. Keep being your brilliant self.
Thank you Lucas for sending me your super work over the last few days. I can see that you have been working so hard on your number formation and your handwriting. Your sentences are super. You have remembered your punctuation and your writing is very neat and on the lines. I can see that you have been working on your odd and even numbers. Are you finding this easier now? Your P2 teacher is going to be very impressed with your beautifully presented work.
Well done! Thank you Taylor for sending me your work from the last week. I know that it can be harder to stay focussed at home than it is at school. Chloe is sometimes finding it tricky as well. Keep trying to be the best that you can be. I know that you are a star! I can see an improvement in your writing Taylor. You are trying hard to keep it neat and on the lines. Some of your writing is a perfect size- ‘to go to the shops’. Try to make all of your writing this size. I did laugh at that sentence. I think shopping may always be a hobby for you!

Good morning everyone,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. I’m glad we didn’t have a rainy weekend and could get out to play. My girls loved playing on the trampoline. What did you get up to.
I’ve uploaded your literacy and numeracy work below. Please try to complete as many tasks as possible and I’d love to see some of your tasks. A grown up can send a photo of your work to gw19auchinraithhl@glow.sch.uk so that I can see them.

Thank you Safah for sending me your work. Your workbooks that you have at home look like fun. I loved reading your letter. You are trying so hard with your writing and trying to keep your writing on the lines. Most of your writing is the same size as well.
Thank you Lucus for sending your work to me yesterday. It was lovely to see your very neat handwriting. I can see that you are trying really hard to keep your writing on the lines. You also completed tricky sums to 30. Keep up the super work Lucas.

Home Learning Tasks – Week Two
Good Morning boys and girls,
There was lots of good weather this weekend so I hope you all had fun in the garden and that you had your suncream on to stay safe.
I spent lots of time working in the garden and I did a zoom exercise class to keep fit! What did you get up to?
I will attach your tasks for this week at the end of this post.
Continue to try your best to complete the activities each day, it can be tricky to concentrate at home but its important to continue to prepare for Primary Two.

It would make me so happy to see your work.
Communication following this work will continue to be through the blog comments. If you would like to leave me a message to say hello or tell me something you have been doing please comment on the blog. I would love to hear from you!

Good Morning Boys and Girls!
I hope you have all had a lovely long weekend and have enjoyed the sunny weather yesterday with your families. It was definitely better than the wind and rain on Saturday.
I have attached your Literacy and Numeracy activities for this week. Please try to complete as many of the activities as you can. Try your best with each task and show everyone at home how hard you can work.
If you have any questions, want to tell me about an activity you have enjoyed or just want to say hello please leave me a comment. I will reply to them this afternoon. I really can’t wait to hear from you all.

Hello Primary 1a,
I hope you are all doing ok and are safe at home with your families. I also hope that you have been able to enjoy some of the sunny days that we have had. I have loved going for walks with my girls and following recipes to bake cakes. I am missing you all very much and I cannot wait to see you all again! I have enjoyed looking at the photographs on the school App that some of you have been sending to Mrs McCulloch.
I will now be uploading your home learning tasks to the blog on a Monday for the whole week. Please try to do as many of the learning tasks as you can to consolidate your learning from primary 1 and make sure you are ready to move to primary 2.
I would love to hear from you all about what you have been up to so please ask a grown up at home to help you leave a message. You can also write a message if you have any questions about your work and need help.
Remember to be the best that you can be!
Mrs Smith
