Learning Access From Home

Primary 3/4 (Mrs Walker & Miss Coghlan)

Week Beginning 22nd June 2020
Well boys and girls, it’s the last few days of school before the summer holidays so we thought you deserved to go on a virtual school trip!
We are going to…
 EDINBURGH ZOO!
Using the link below, you can virtually visit the zoo, see many of the animals on a live webcam, play some fun games and do some great activities!
We have also created a grid of extra zoo-tastic activities for you to complete at your leisure. You do not have to complete them all and you could even save some for during the summer holidays!
Remember the last few days of school are lots of fun. You have worked hard this year and we hope you enjoy your virtual trip to the zoo!
Although we won’t be altogether on a bus for our trip, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some traditional bus-journey songs!
For example; “You canny shove your granny off the bus” or “The back/front of the bus canny sing” or “The wheels on the bus”.
Have a zoo-per time at the zoo!
Don’t forget your packed lunch and no… we’re not nearly there yet!

Monday 8th June 2020

Good Morning Boys and Girls… Here Comes Summer!

As we are approaching the summer holidays we have decided to plan your learning around the theme of ‘Here Comes Summer’. In the activity grid below you will find a range of literacy, numeracy and across the curriculum activities for you to complete over the next 2 weeks (Week Beginning 8/6/20 and 15/6/20). You can choose which activities you do each day but please try to attempt as many as you can over the next 2 weeks.

Now for the really exciting part…

WE CHALLENGE YOU!

We are going to be running a class competition where you will have a challenge to work on over the next two weeks. At the end of the 2 weeks, a winner will be chosen from each class and they will receive a special prize!

Primary 3/4 Class Challenge: Miniature Crazy Golf Course

TASK: Design and create a miniature crazy golf course using recyclable/junk materials.

CRITERIA:

  • Your course must have a hole for the ball to land in with a flag to mark this spot.
  • Your course must have at least 2 crazy obstacles – can you get the ball to go through/round/over/under/past something?
  • Your course must have a theme – for example; under the sea, jungle, playpark, garden, superhero, etc.

Don’t worry if you do not have a golf ball – you can improvise by using marbles, spherical fruit, toys, or anything round that can roll, using your finger as a golf club!

Please send pictures or videos of your models to gw19auchinraithhl@glow.sch.uk by 3pm on Friday 19th June 2020.

GOOD LUCK!

Remember- if you have any questions we are here to help! We will be online between 2pm and 3pm to look over any work

that you have emailed or to answer any questions!

Miss Coghlan and Mrs Walker

Completed Work

We are aware of the need for children and parents to have the facility to email completed work to class teachers. All completed work should be sent to gw19auchinraithhl@glow.sch.uk

Please ensure that your child’s name and class are both in the subject heading. All communications/messages should continue to be sent through the Blog. This glow email account is only for completed work. This could be in the form of photographs or word documents.

We look forward to seeing some of your work!

Mrs Walker and Miss Coghlan

Hello Team Primary 3/4! Mrs Walker and Miss Coghlan here!

We are missing you all so much and hope that you and your families are safe and well. We have really enjoyed seeing some of your pictures on the school app so keep these coming! It has been wonderful to have some sunshine over these last few weeks – we hope you have been enjoying it as much as we have!

From now on, we will be uploading home-learning tasks to the blog on a weekly basis. This will be split into Primary 3 work and Primary 4 work. In order to take your learning forward, it is important that you complete the work provided to the best of your ability. We know how hard you can work in class and we are positive that you will be doing the same at home!

Remember this is a holiday weekend so your work won’t be available until Tuesday 26th May at 9am. So in the meantime, could we ask you to comment below to make sure you can see our class blog and let us know your plans for the May weekend. This would be a great help! If you have any questions, we are here to help.

Take care,

Miss Coghlan and Mrs Walker
