Well, you all survived your first week of home learning and I hope you are all ready to go again! Here is the suggested weekly timetable and underneath it you will find more detailed instructions for tasks and any links to resources needed.

  • Spelling – Look/say/cover/write/check 3 times & write dictionary definitions in lined jotter. (remember you can find the meanings online)
  • Reading – Please click on the link below for your group’s Bug Club Task Card, read the pages, answer the Bug questions and complete the tasks for Session 3 in lined jotter.

Rowling – The Mystery of the Poisoned Pudding  Session 3 Reading (Chapters 6 & 7)

Walliams – Awfully Beastly Business: Hunting For Trolls  Session 3 Reading (Chapter 5)

Morpurgo – Charlie Small: Gorillas Vs The Leopard Men  Session 3 Reading (Pages 30-48)

  • Numeracy – Complete the workbook pages allocated below in your Numeracy jotter. We have also set you a challenge on Sumdog to be completed by the end of the week.

Rectangles/Circles – Workbook page (RRR pg. 167, qu1-4) then 15 minutes on Sumdog. Now try to create some 3D shapes of your own. You could cut out a net and make it up or use straws/cotton buds/spaghetti to construct shapes

Squares /Triangles – Workbook page (RRR pg.197) then 15 minutes on Sumdog. Now try to create some 3D shapes of your own. You could cut out a net and make it up or use straws/cotton buds/spaghetti to construct shapes.

Tuesday (Mrs Sheikh)

Dahl/Rowling/Walliams – Complete Page 3 of the Grammar Booklet – ‘Verbs: Using Tenses’

Morpurgo – Complete Page 3 of the Grammar Booklet – ‘Pronouns: What do they refer to?’

Lewis – Complete Page 2 of the Phonics, Spelling & Vocabulary Booklet – ‘Opposites’

  • Numeracy – Spend at least 15 minutes on Sumdog then choose activities from the menu to practise your times tables. Times-Table-Menu <—click here to download. Rectangles and Circles should also complete Workbook Pages (Patterns pg. 152-154) Squares and Triangles should also complete Workbook pages (Patterns pg 139)
  • Music – Go on to Mrs McDougall’s Blog and complete a task.

Wednesday (Mrs Gaw)

Squares /Triangles – Workbook Pages (Describing Number Patterns pg 140&141) then at least 15 minutes on Sumdog.

  • Literacy – Writing task – Today we are going to work on developing our imaginative writing skills. We are going to learn how to describe a setting using the slow writing technique. I will go over the PowerPoint at 9:30am and we will  brainstorm descriptive words and phrases. Your task is to work through the slides on the power-point and write a descriptive sentence for each of the slow writing success criteria.

  • Spelling – Look/say/cover/write/check 3 times & write a quality sentence for each of your spelling words in lined jotter.
  • Literacy – Complete the second task (detailed below) in the Comprehension Booklet in your lined jotter. (Remember to answer in sentences.)
