Newark Primary School opened it’s doors in 2008. We believe it is the heart of our community. There have been many changes to the school names and buildings over the years. All of these changes led to…NEWARK.

When our families were asked to vote to name our houses, the results were overwhelming previous primary schools.

Children will be earning house points termly and will have the chance to earn these by showing our school values and more. Here is how the totals are calculated.

Points system

20 points – Gold – Star pupil

10 points – Silver – Extra curricular / wider achievements

5 points – Red – Newark values

Allocation

When we started our house point system, children and staff were randomly allocated a house. Children are guaranteed to be paired with their siblings. Whilst they may not be with a close friend, this gives them a chance to foster new relationships and friendships with pupils across the school.

Leadership

The house system is managed by the children. They elect the captains and vice-captains at the start of each session. They usually come from P6+7. Click on the individual house tabs to see who is the current pupil leader of each house.
