Class Newsletter – Term 3

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year with your loved ones. The children have settled back into life in the P4 classroom nicely and are enjoying being back together.

Health and Wellbeing

This term we will be learning about Road Safety. We will use the THINK website to support us with this. We will begin our PATHS Compliment Lists this term, where the children will learn how to say something positive about another person in a kind and respectful manner.

For PE this term, we will be covering gymnastics and hockey. Our PE days are a Tuesday and Thursday. Please remember now jewellery and comfortable clothing/shoes on these days.

Social Subjects

Our IDL topic this term will be ‘Oceans’ with a focus on sea pollution and the impact it is having on our oceans and sea animals. This topic will cover a variety of curricular areas such as literacy, art, ICT (research), drama and science. We will read Michael Morpurgo’s, ‘This Morning I Met a Whale’ alongside the topic.

Other Important Information

P4 have a school trip on the 29th January 2025 to the Science Centre. This will be a full day trip and after the trip, the children will continue the learning back in the classroom with a block of lessons. Mr Coyle will be working with P4a on a Wednesday morning in the ICT Suite, helping them to improve their digital skills. On the 21st February 2025, we have our Class Assembly, followed by our Stay & Play. I hope you can come along.
