Welcome back everyone, and a massive hello to all our wonderful Primary 2 families! We have had a fantastic start to the new school year here in Room 6, and the children are already settling in beautifully.

🤝 Making New Friends

One of the main areas during these first few days has been building our classroom community. We have been doing a brilliant job of catching up with old friends and, most importantly, making new ones!

We have been playing team-building games and sharing our summer news, which has really helped everyone feel included and happy in their new environment. It is truly lovely to see so many kind, welcoming, and smiling faces in Room 6.

📚 Learning Our Class Routines

Moving up to Primary 2 is a big step, but the class are adapting wonderfully to our new class routines. To make sure our classroom runs smoothly, we have been spending time learning:

• Where to put our coats, bags, and packed lunches in the morning.

• How to independently organise our trays and look after our resources.

• The steps for our morning check-in and our daily visual timetable.

• Our class charter and rules for keeping Room 6 a safe, respectful, and happy place to learn.

Establishing these routines early on helps the children feel secure and confident, ensuring they are ready to tackle all the exciting learning we have planned for this year!

👟 Important Reminder: PE Days

Please note that our PE days for this term will be Mondays and Thursdays.

As we will be trying to get outside for our physical education as much as possible (weather permitting!), please ensure your child comes to school wearing appropriate clothing on these days.
