This week in Room 5 we have learned lots of new things. This week we focused on 3 sounds in phonics ‘oo, ee, ck’ and 4 new common words ‘are, come, of, new’. We spent time focusing on addition to 20, splitting the 10s and 1s in each number to help us to add smaller numbers to bigger numbers. For Non Number, we focused again on 2D shape and we created a poster to showcase our learning of all the shapes we have learned. The children also had a taekwondo taster session this week, and they really enjoyed learning some of the moves.

Aulay: I enjoyed taekwondo this week, it was fun.

Harris: We went to the library for the first time.

Callum: We learned about 2D shapes and created shapes with magnetic tiles. The shapes had to be flat on the table.

David: We learned about the months of the year and days of the week.

Amira: We learned new sounds.

Hridhaan: I enjoyed learning how to tile with 2D shapes and making them fit together.

Lucas: I enjoyed going on the trim trail in P.E practicing our balancing skills.

Peyton: I enjoyed tiling with 2D shapes.

Kai: I liked when we did Yoga in the classroom, it was silly as it was minion yoga.

Katie: I enjoyed taekwondo.

Ayesha: I enjoyed learning about shapes.

Archie: I liked taekwondo.

Aulay: I enjoyed doing our number talks this week.

Harris: I liked playing with the lego with Archie making sand monsters.

Kai: I liked football and practicing rolling the balls and kicking them.

Shreyan: I made Godzilla with the lego.

David: I made a huge ship with the lego during play.

Lucas: We played Teacher in the role play corner, used the pretend laptop as a lesson and pretended to do colouring tasks. Peyton was the teacher.

• Indoor P.E– Wednesday
• Outdoor P.E– Thursday
• Library books should be returned for a Thursday, as we are lucky to have a library slot on Thursday afternoons.
• All children should bring/wear a waterproof jacket to school each day so we can take learning outside whenever possible, and for lunch and break time.
