Our Week in Room 16

We are so happy to be back in school for our first week back of the new term and what a week we have had!

We have focused on reflective writing to showcase all of the exciting experiences we had over the Easter break, we have had fun with family and friends with so many different stories to tell. In numeracy, we have been challenging ourselves to make connections between division and fractions as we are beginning to recognise fractions from their smallest amount to their largest. We have also been looking at 3D shape for our beyond number work and have successfully identified a variety of shapes.

We have also celebrated spring and summer arriving with some blossom art, we have explored the life cycle of apple trees and used our creative skills to make ‘popcorn trees’ which show the pink blossom before the apple arrives in the early summer. We are embracing the sunny weather and have begun a new block of rounders lesson, our first game was a success and we can’t wait to play more!

We have used our ICT skills to explore different famous explorers through our exciting explorers game: check it out here! KS1 History free game – Ibn Battuta, Amelia Earhart and Neil Armstrong for primary school children – Exciting Explorers – BBC Bitesize

We have also begun a Makaton club in Room 16 and would like to thank all the children who signed up and attended.
