The Wild Robot in Room 27

This term Room 27 have been using the novel The Wild Robot by Peter Brown for their literacy and social studies topic.  The children have been enjoying the adventures of Roz on a deserted island. They have developed their skills in metalinguistics, prior knowledge and summarising as well as showing excellent understanding of what they are reading.  The adventures of Roz have also been the inspiration for our narrative writing over the past few weeks.

The class are working together to create a wonderful collage scene based on the novel and have used chalk to create their own pictures of Roz.  I am sure you will agree that we have a class of budding artists in Room 27!

I have attached a link on an interesting article about The Wild Robot and the importance of reading emotional novels for children.
