The Planets class enjoyed using a magic lamp cutter to create themed shortbread biscuits. We loved doing this and were all brave enough to try them!
This week we enjoyed the opening of our Oak Tree Cafe (within class) as part of our class Enterprise. Everyone had to choose lollipop sticks to reveal their role within the cafe. We had some customers, front of house, waiter, dish washer and cashier.
We all were effective contributors to make the cafe successful, we will change the roles and continue to develop or independence within a cafe setting.
Our IDL work this term is based on Beauty and the Beast. We have been working hard on identifying personality qualities in our self and our friends.
We have been discussing the important people in our life and who is around us that care and provide us with helps.
Everyone took part in lessons with confidence and were effective contributors sharing this information with their friends.
As a class we enjoy looking through our photos and remembering the activities that we have taken part in. We had great team work between two pupils, who worked together to sort all our class photos for the full class.

The Beech class have been learning all about looking after ourselves and how to keep our body clean and healthy. This wee we looked at how to keep our face clean and healthy by trying out different skin care products and routines! We found it super relaxing and enjoyed the different smells and textures of the products. We were very responsible citizens by asking sensible questions and being gentle with our manikins.
We had great fun this week during topic work designing and building our own Moana boat! We looked at Moana’s boat in the film and had a think about what it materials it was made of and what shape it is. We conducted a bit of an experiment to see if the shape of the boat affected how well it could float. We discovered that the boat with a larger base was able to carry the most weight! We were very successful learners by making our hypothesis and taking turns to count out the number of weights per boat and then deciding which boat was the best.
We have been confident individuals this week and took part in our annual Sports Day!
We were effective contributors and cheered for our peers when acting as an audience.
We had super dancing in our warm up and ran our fastest during both races.

The Planets class made some fruit smoothies today. As part of our ILP targets, we were preparing a range of fruit by removing the skin and chopping them into small pieces. We had bananas, apples, strawberries and raspberries. We used orange juice and yogurt in the blender and were very pleased with our results. We also were all brave enough to give our smoothies a little try!
