Looking After Babies (mini-topic)

*confident individuals* *reponsible citizens* *effective contributors* *successful learners*

Some of the boys in the Sungazers class will soon be big brothers! We have been doing a mini-topic about babies in the class which all of the boys have really enjoyed.  They have been really good at holding their baby dolls correctly, taking them for walks and identifying all the equipement needed to look after a baby.

Yesterday we had a visit from Mrs Skinner’s newborn niece, Chloe.  All of the boys were delighted to meet her and were so kind and gentle.

IDL – Numeracy

This week we have been successful learners and working hard on developing our  numeracy skills.

We used the fitness balls to help understanding of directional movement, forward and backwards.  We also all sat in a circle with the balls and used the drumsticks.  We were counting and listening to directional movement, working on right and left.

We were taking part in coin work, before we went on our first class outing into town.

FAOL – Eco/Sustainable Development (Quality Education)

We have been exploring different classroom settings from around the world.  It was interesting to find out that not all children learn from within a classroom in a school building.  Some are taught from inside tents, some outdoors and some from underneath trees which are used for shade.  We had good fun completing activities in different learning environments this week.

Literacy Skills

In some countries children don’t have pencils and paper to write with. Instead they use chalk and write on their desks or on the ground.
