Willowbank School, KilmarnockThe Stars class have been successful learners and effective contributors this week as we began our Christmas activities. We created a Christmas card, reindeer hand print pictures and wrote a letter to Santa! We enjoyed a Christmas story role play and are having daily visits from a pesky elf!
Although St. Andrew’s Day is not until Monday the Stars Class have been successful learners and effective contributors this week by learning about him. We made St. Andrew’s flags, enjoyed Scottish sensory handling and did some Scottish dancing. We used broccoli florets to print thistle pictures and enjoyed a Scottish taste and try. Singing Hands visited virtually today. We had great fun!
The Stars class have been effective contributors by making personalised snowflakes for something ‘secret’ Mrs Murray is planning. We have also been working hard on our Christmas window display for the atrium. We hope you will like it when it’s finished. We also enjoyed the sensory experience of copying shapes and names on shaving foam.
We were effective contributors as we enjoyed participating in Children in Need activities. We created colourful masks, made Pudsey cakes, carefully completed dot to dot pictures, played ‘Pudsey Says’ and handled spotty water beads.
We were successful learners as we explored Diwali this week. We made diya lamps and rangoli patterns.
We were successful learners learning about animal habitats. We correctly matched different animals to the desert, icy north pole, ocean, park, steamy jungle and woodland areas.
The Stars class were effective contributors acting out the parts of the Animal Boogie book. We had a good time making the animal moves and singing the songs.
The Stars class enjoyed a fantastic Hallowe’en week. We did Hallowe’en hard work, iced biscuits and did art and craft. On Friday we dressed up and enjoyed party activities, a sociable snack and a virtual parade. We had a blast!
The Stars class were responsible citizens by planting cress seeds to grow to eat. We painted lovely Hallowe’en mugs to grow them in.
The Stars class were effective contributors by making invitations and planning a picnic in the garden.
