Assembly, Sports Day and Australia.

This week has been a busy one again. We have continued with our Australian theme and made play dough echidnas and yummy ruffle biscuits – the parental feedback was extremely good!!

Tuesday afternoon we had a great time at Sports and the sun shone brightly.

We were confident individuals on Wednesday morning leading the Secondary Assembly – we told our story “There was an old lady that swallowed a mozzie!” Signed the actions and make the noises of all the animals in the story, then we all played a game.

Last week of term before our Spring holiday

The Sunflower boys are very tired this week. We went to Burger King on Monday and had our snack and enjoyed playing in the soft play. On Wednesday we had our Easter service assembly. We sang our two Easter songs we had been learning in class, and one of the boys was an egg at the front for “Spring Chicken”.

On Thursday for cookery we had sausages and toast and made a chocolate brownie for our afternoon snack. We covered strawberries in white chocolate with orange food colouring to look like carrots.

We also made our special cards and gifts for the special lady in each of our lives. We will be sending them home for Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Hope you all have a super holiday. 🙂

Easter sensory assembly

We enjoyed the Easter sensory assembly this week. There were messy sensory trays with materials to look like soil, water beads and shredded paper to find chicks in. We played pin the tail on the bunny and hoop the bunny ears. The boys really enjoyed these. We also created our own bunny art.  The boys also enjoyed chill out time as a class on the bean bags with the sensory tower. They were confident individuals and interacting well together.

Eco

This week was our sensory eco assembly.

We played games made of recycled materials. The boys all loved playing them. We decorated our own class canvas bag. We are going to use this for our weekly outings. We made recycled art work. We used lots of pencil sharpenings to decorate our butterfly pictures. We also had to feel different materials and decide which bin we would put the item in.

Burns Assembly

The Beech class delivered a special Robert Burns assembly last week.  We played Scottish themed games, had a Robert Burns quiz and dramatised the story of Tam o’ Shanter for our audience!  We were confident individuals as we all took on a special role for our drama exercise and remembered our steps.
