The Stars class ground wheat to show how flour is made then baked a tasty loaf of bread which we enjoyed for snack. We collected groceries for the Harvest assembly which was then donated to the local food bank.

The Bluebells class enjoyed learning more about scarecrows this week. We loved acting out the Dingle Dangle scarecrow song and enjoyed assembling our very own scarecrow heads.

The Bluebells class loved our visit to Kilmarnock Pets at Home. We had to be very quiet when we were visiting as we did not want to scare the animals. We met a few dogs that had been in for their haircuts and also loved seeing bunnies, guinea pigs, rats and lots of fish!
This week we have been working very hard on improving our awareness of directional movement.
We explored this by using some blind folds, orienteering tasks and the Bee Bots. We were confident individuals and excited to find out where our clues lead us to. All of our clues involved directional words and counting our steps.
This week we have been working on making choices – by selecting our favourite characters from the film ‘Inside Out’ using pictures, sensory bottles and the oil mats.
We also been working on our numeracy skills using the Switch IT Games and colourful objects to count. Jacob enjoys the Switch IT games, Reece and Jessica love working together.
We continued with our Cloudy with a chance of meatballs theme this week and made Cheesy Rolls – yummy!!! The dough proved – got REALLY BIG – the Science bit!!! we kneaded it, added the cheese and baked it.
Adam got a great honour in receiving a Head Teachers Award, he was really pleased and we were all really proud – he is just trying to look really cool!!!!
We had a lovely Harvest Celebration this morning with Reverend Cameron. Thank you to everyone for your very generous donations which will go to the Ayrshire (East) Foodbank.
The Pine class worked together to create these lovely sensory hedgehogs for the Harvest Assembly.
Everyone was able to carry out a simple instruction and the class worked well together. Effective contributors!

The Bluebells class enjoyed making mini pizzas in the cookery room today. Pizzas fell from the sky in our theme film “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”.
We loved rolling the dough and making round pizza bases and carefully grated blocks of cheese. We are excited to take them home and share with our family!

The Snowdrops all enjoyed a visit to the library this week. Everyone practised safe walking and crossing of roads as we walked to the library. We had our snack at the library café and made confident choices of drinks and food. This was our first opportunity to use our Eco canvas bag that we had made in class. See if you can spot it in our photos! After our snack, we went through to the junior library and made choices of books to look at with an adult or friend.

The Snowdrops have created their own class canvas bag which we can re-use on our outings. We decided to use the idea of our school tree and to make it colourful for autumn. Everyone made personal choices of paint colours to use and we made handprints to make the autumn leaf shapes.
