Effective Contributors at Centrestage

The Sungazers have had a great day in school. They were all effective contributors during our Centrestage session.  They each chose a prop from the bag and joined in with all of the songs.  To fit in with our current Scottish theme we changed the words from our usual ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ song to ‘Heid, Shooders, Knaps and Taes’!

Parachute games are always a favourite and we enjoyed playing the Peapod game as well as bouncing the ball on the parachute.

Reece chose ‘Tiny Tim’ to sing about.

Leo hummed the ‘goodbye’ song independently once the session had finished.

Ryan, Jayden, Jamie and Lewis all enjoyed the rhyme about the cheeky monkeys and the naughty crocodile!

Disco time with sensory lights. Parachute games!

FAOL – Beech Line, Colour & Texture

The Beech class have been experimenting with the basic elements of line, colour and texture. The pupils were given a template and asked to fill in each area with various sensory items found in the art room.

I think you’ll agree that we have some pretty fantastic results! These images will be displayed in the art room to inspire other budding young artists. Confident individuals!

FAOL – Transition Joseph Stella Line Art

The Transition boys have been learning about Joseph Stella, the Italian born American Futurist painter. Stella liked to create a lot of abstract art using lines.

The boys had a go at recreating the futuristic looking artwork by using masking tape to make some resistance pictures. Super successful learners today!

FAOL: Science – Ice Cream in a bag

*Successful Learners*    *Confident Individuals*

The Moonbeams enjoyed their science experiment this afternoon. We made ice cream in a bag. The children concentrated while holding and pouring the ingredients. We explored what the ingredients looked and felt like before being shaken in the bag of ice with salt and then we compared it afterwards to see the change. The children also enjoyed having a taste of the finished result. Yummy!
