Here in Gargieston Primary and Early Childhood Centre we are continuing to promote our core values:
FRIENDSHIP HAPPINESS RESPECT MOTIVATION
We believe that all children and adults should enjoy learning, experience success and have high expectations of what they can achieve. The staff in our School and Early Childhood Centre work towards creating a happy, relaxed learning atmosphere where your child will be encouraged to participate in the life of the school, to work hard and to strive to achieve the best possible for himself/herself.
The importance of the family on children and their learning is crucial, therefore as a school we wish to actively involve you, the families and parents, more in your children’s education. Our school thrives on this partnership we build with you and our community.
We hope the images and posts within this website/blog help to convey the ethos of our school however we would also like to invite you to come into the school and nursery to learn about us first-hand.
Gargieston is a place to learn and this website / blog is constantly under-construction. As a team, we are learning together and as more and more children and staff learn to post and create pages, you will see our progress. We all have different learning styles and progress at different rates. As we learn to use this tool for communication please remember that it might be a child or adult’s first post. We live in the 21st century and may well be preparing children for jobs that don’t yet exist. We want to learn to use the internet responsibly and safely and this website (which doesn’t let children’s post go live without adult approval) ensures we can support children to think carefully about what they post online.
By working together, we can achieve the very best experiences and opportunities for everyone at Gargieston and East Ayrshire. Our shared vision is that…
Every day, in every infant’s home, “on the floor” in every early childhood centre, in every lesson, in every classroom, all of our children and young people encounter thought-provoking and stimulating learning experiences, from caring, confident parents from a range of highly-trained and motivated professional staff with the necessary support and encouragement, at the time it is needed, for success in life, learning and work.
Nationally we work together to ensure all children are:
SAFE, HEALTHY, ACTIVE, NURTURED, ACHIEVING, RESPECTED, RESPONSIBLE AND INCLUDED
UN Convention on the Rights of the child Article 29: You have the right to education which develops your personality, respect for other’s rights and the environment.
