A special message from an author on World Book Day….
We are so lucky to have received a very special message from author Ursula Buchan, grand daughter of 39 Steps author, John Buchan. She recorded a special video for us with a short quiz at the end, so listen hard all the way through.
Thank you so much to Ursula for doing this especially for Gargieston and to Mrs Green for organising it. Enjoy…!
It’s World Book Day!
We hope that all the classes enjoy the activities planned by staff for this special day. There are a few surprises in store… Don’t forget to send your photos, whether your child is in school or at home, to:
eashona.lawson@glow.sch.uk
by 5pm on Friday 5th March.
The Primary 1-3 and ECC children in school today will all receive a paper book token to buy a ‘World Book Day’ book from participating shops. Primary 4-7 can download a voucher using the link below.
Meantime, why not start the day with a song from MC Grammar and try and spot all the hidden book titles in the lyrics – there are 35 to find. ..

World Book Day – Thursday 4th March…
The count down is on to Thursday and World Book Day. Remember boys and girls in the ECC and P1-3, we would love to see you dressed up as your favourite book character (please leave any add-ons such as wands or swords at home in case they get lost).
There will be lots of activities on class Teams pages and on the blog for you to take part in throughout the day and everyone, both in school and at home, will receive their voucher to exchange for a book at participating shops.
Please share your photographs of the day whether you’re dressed up as a character or you would like everyone to see a piece of work you are particularly proud of – feel free to send them all!
