Gargieston Primary has traditionally taken part in the Ayrshire and Scottish orienteering festivals over a number of years and have competed to a high level. This of course was down to the dedication and enthusiasm of Ms Harvey. Mr Smith and myself (Mrs Mackie) would love to keep this tradition alive and are hoping to get as many children to attend these events as possible. Every year there are evening training events run by AYROC, giving the children experience of an orienteering course. Here is the information:
Ayrshire Schools Orienteering Training Evenings.

Help keep this tradition alive!
Do you have to register for the training events or just turn up? Do you know how long they last? Thanks
Yes, just turn up and names will be kept on a register. There are four sessions and each lasts between one and two hours, depending on how quickly it takes to complete the course.
Does a child just turn up to sessions or is there somewhere to book certain dates? Thanks
Yes, just turn up and names will be kept on a register.
