Last week, in outdoor learning, P6/7 pupils took and edited photographs, which had the theme of Reflections. These will be entered into a Cluster competition. Fingers crossed, we may have a winning entry!

Primary 6/7 pupils are organising a community coffee morning for Friday 24th February. As part of this event, they will be holding a jumble sale in order to raise funds for the school. They would welcome any nearly-new donations of books, CDs, puzzles, toys, accessories etc. These can be handed in to the school office.

On Monday 6th February, staff will do a short presentation in school (6-7 p.m) to show parents how to follow their child’s/children’s learning via the blog and/or the nursery Sway. We look forward to seeing nursery and school parents there.
We were very busy last week preparing for our Scottish night as well as all our other learning. Here is some of what we have been learning.
We read Katie Morag and the Tiresome Ted story and in writing we re-wrote the story and thought about how the the teddy felt at different points,writing them in speech bubbles. Findlay
We were drawing pictures of the Bear Hunt story with a partner ready for the Scottish show next Monday. Maris
We wrote a letter to Katie Morag telling her our name, our age, where we live, what we like doing and we asked her a question about Struay. Josh
We were learning about Road Safety. If you are cycling about on the road you have to wear a jacket that you can be seen with, it would be yellow. Brodie
We were practising our handwriting in the sand trays last week. We were practising i, a and d. Callum
In maths we were all doing different things:

We are trying out a new way to share the nursery children’s learning journey, it is called sway. We think that it is a great way to share their learning with you. Please have a look and let us know what you think.
As you can see from sway the children have been busy this week continuing to look at how to be safe. In addition to what the learning on sway some children also enjoyed using their ITC skills to play a Paw Patrol game on staying safe. They were great at taking turns because if they all tried to play at once the game would freeze!
