I hope you enjoyed the previous 4 days of movement with Joe Wicks. Today we will continue with Joe for Movement Monday.
Again this will be a short 5 minute activity to set you up for the day. You still have the option of using the cards and you can download these to help with the video should you wish.
Its important that you do what you can and adapt any exercises where appropriate. Over the coming days we will add more videos and possibly some alternatives.
The objective is movement therefore don’t stress to much if it becomes a struggle. Just allow the children to move and do what they can for those 5 minutes. The clips uploaded are just a guide.
Friday is assembly day and Tracey has posted today’s assembly under Primary Assembly. Enjoy!
Easter Singalong –
Connie has posted an Easter singalong. Some of our favourite spring and Easter songs can be found here. Can you teach someone in your family the songs, movement and signs?
Calendar –
Let’s have fun with the months today. Someone in your family will know ‘the Macarena’. Learn the moves while ordering the months of the year.

see Movement section for some great ideas
Life Skills –
Have a look at your room, can you tidy it?
Literacy –
Look through a book, can you find any words with more than 5 letters?
Here is a story about a very different house. Can you describe the house to someone in your family? How is the inside different to the outside? Talk about the characters in the story. If you had a Gingerbread house what would it be made of? Yummy!
Sign of the Day –
Learn some signs with Lorna.
Food Technology –
Make some yummy Easter Egg Nest cakes. Click on link below for the recipe.
Food Technology: Help make lunch. We are going to make pancakes.
ICT: We are going to choose a country and find out some information on it. See my blog entry for ICT.
Music: See Connie’s Easter singalong! We are going to karaoke using You Tube. Put your favourite songs on and sing along. Here is our favourite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnN6glKaWdE
here is a dance for you to learn. To access the videos you will need to click on the link below and hopefully it should open up for you to view. The song we are dancing too is ‘Higher Love’ by Kygo and Whitney Houston
Fiddly Fingers: We are going to put Kirby grips in our hair and try to find them again. You could play with playdough. We also played with the dominoes to know them all down.
Music: We are going to jam with the musical instruments in our house. If you don’t have any instruments then you can get pots and spoons to bash. We used our dominoes again too.
We’re all getting used to working in new ways away from our usual classrooms, but we can still have fun making music.
What to do this week
This week, please join in with the activities below. The more who can join in, the more fun, too. Do the activities as many times as you like.
Activities (links below)
Hello song
Bounce and catch. You’ll need a ball for this.
Tap and clap along to the music on the YouTube video. This week we have a Brazilian classic by Sergio Mendes feat. Black Eyed Peas – Mas Que Nada
Play the video again, but this time play along with some instruments – if you don’t have any, see what you can find around you that can make a good sound.
Time to get up and dance! Move around to HAPPY – Pharrell Williams (feat. Minions)
And now, time to chill. He’res a piece of piano music by the French composer Erik Satie. You may want to play it more than once.
Goodbye Song. Time to say goodbye! Thank you for your music. Hope you had some fun, see you all next time!
First of all let’s get singing with our families! Wakey, wakey!
