Group 5 Health and Wellbeing Monday 30th March

Today’s suggestion for Health and Well-being came from Maureen, thank you Maureen.

She has suggested that we have a Pinewood cake making competition!

Food Cake Baking Cakes Bakery Decorating S0negif Making Baking ...

The competition would be open to Pinewood students and staff and the rules are that the cakes have to be home made or home decorated and you have to send in a picture so that we can all see them. We will ask someone who knows a lot about cakes to be the judge!

The competition will run until Friday 24th April so there is plenty of time to practise your baking skills and to take a photograph of your best bake.

In the meantime why not watch an episode of junior bake-off for some cake-spiration!

A busy day! Enjoy

Monday 30th of March – Pink Class

It’s Monday! Wakey, wakey! Let’s start with a good morning song.

Calendar –

Let’s play a favourite learning game – ‘Wall Touch’

Write days of the week on pieces of paper. Place the pieces of paper around the room or blu-tac to the walls. Everyone stands in the middle of the room. Someone shouts out a day of the week and everyone races to find it and touches it. Repeat for other days of the week. Mix the cards up and try again. Have fun!

Movement –

Check out the movement section for some ideas. How are you all getting on with Joe Wicks?

Life Skills –

Help out with doing the dishes today. This is one of our classroom jobs.

Maths –

Let’s continue with money.

Make a money caterpillar. Can you add up the coins? How much is each caterpillar worth?

P.E.-

Check out our P.E. section. Gerry and Pedro have put some great active ideas on here. I’m going to have a go myself.

Or try our ‘Spell your name’ workout.

Story –

Vicky from Silver Class found this little story about social distancing. Watch it and discuss with family.

Sign of the Day –

What signs will we learn from Lorna today?

Art –

Can you make your own colour wheel using items from your house?

Here is the colour wheel:

Here are some attempts:

Have a good search around your house. Have a family competition. Who can make the best colour wheel?

Outdoor Learning –

Here’s a little challenge for a walk today. As you wander around your estate or garden collect items to record your journey. What can you find that nature has provided? Tie them to a stick to help tell your journey story. Was it fun? Were you happy? What did you find? Did you find any feathers? What animal did they come from?

HWB –

How are you all getting on with brushing your teeth? Are you remembering to reach the tricky bits? Set a timer for 2 minutes each time.

Challenge of the Day –

Find 8 things in your house that begin with the letter ‘b’

Have fun!

Movement Monday

Happy Monday everyone,

I hope you enjoyed the previous 4 days of movement with Joe Wicks. Today we will continue with Joe for Movement Monday.

Again this will be a short 5 minute activity to set you up for the day. You still have the option of using the cards and you can download these to help with the video should you wish.

Today’s cards to match the video 5 min Move Workout Day 1

Its important that you do what you can and adapt any exercises where appropriate. Over the coming days we will add more videos and possibly some alternatives.

The objective is movement therefore don’t stress to much if it becomes a struggle. Just allow the children to move and do what they can for those 5 minutes. The clips uploaded are just a guide.

Have fun and lets get moving!

Group 1 Good Morning

Good Morning Everyone.

I hope you’ve had a good weekend and are ready for some learning. There are lots of exciting things and ideas on the blog. Have a look.

Today is Monday but what’s the date?

Have a look outside and see what the weather is for today.

How are you feeling? I’m happy as the weather is better but a little sad because I’m missing you all.

I hope you’re all remembering your household chores task.

look at the poster below and choose one to do today.

Today is our community time. You can’t visit the library but you could go outdoors. What will you see?

Can you find some writing?

Can you find a number bigger than 10

How many red cars can you see?

Can you hear birds?

How many dogs can you see?

I’ve put some photos of what I saw in my community on Sunday.

Can you take photos of what you see or write it down and share it here?

Look at the Maths area for maths work for later.

Enjoy your day.
