Group 5 Circle Time Tuesday 26th May
Hi everyone,
How are you today?
Today I am feeling like Mr Strong because I have been helping my husband get the fire wood ready for winter. It is giving me strong arms!
Who do you feel like today?
Today is going to be sunny and windy again. I like this kind of weather do you?
For movement today can you find a song about weather to dance along to?
You could try ‘It’s Raining Men’ by The Weather Girls or my favourite weather song ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC – that will definitely get you moving!
For life-skills today practise making someone a drink again. Ask someone in your house what they would like and then get everything you need to make them their drink.
Your first lesson of the day is ICT. Kirsty has a couple of new posts in the ICT / technology section or you may prefer to try out new activity on Topmarks.
Perhaps you could try copying the letters on this game
http://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/skyWriter/index.html
or, you might like to play a shape matching game (on a train!)
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ordering-and-sequencing/shape-patterns
After ICT it is time for Dance and Rachel has already posted her next dancing hands video for you to learn. If you have missed some of her videos, don’t worry, just look back through the dance section, they will still be there!
Have a break and then come back for story-time at 10.30. Today’s story is
Then check out Sign of the Day with Lorna.
For Fiddly Fingers I thought we could try making some origami animals. Today, can you make a dog? This video will help.
Then it is time for lunch, perhaps a picnic in the garden again if it’s not too windy.
After lunch it is time for Gardening / CDT with Scott and I think he might be doing something fun with weeds (wild-flowers).
Last lesson of the day is Health and Well-being. It has been a while since we had a massage for health and well-being so choose a head, hand or back massage and lie back and relax. Perhaps when you have had your massage you could do one for someone else?
Have a lovely day.

Hi everyone,
Today’s story is the Tale of Peter Rabbit. This story is nearly 120 years old! Have a watch and a listen, does it seem that old to you?
Tomorrow’s choices are

What to do today
Please join in with the activities below. The more who can join in, the more fun, too. Not all of the activities are for everyone, so just do the ones you enjoy and as many times as you like.
Play along using any kind of instrument or use body percussion – clapping, tapping, clicking, stamping your feet.
Activities (links below)
- Hello Song
- Bounce and catch
- Sing Charlie Over the Ocean. Watch the video first to see how to do it. Then you can get your own soft toys and join in or else watch and sing.
- Ride-O Ride-O Ride-O. Get a teddy bear or favourite soft toy to bounce on your knee for this song. Maybe a grown-up will bounce you on their knee.
- Five Buzzy Bees. Sing along and copy the actions. Can you make your buzzy bee go up and down, backwards and forwards, left and right, buzz all around?
- Over the Irish Sea. Join in or hold on to a scarf with a partner to move to the song.
- Time to move. Play the instruments along to the video or get up and dance. If you like, get a scarf to play with. This week we have two old ska classics from Jamaica by The Ethiopians that have a train theme — Last Train to Skaville and Engine 54. Can you move like a train to these?
- Time to relax. This week we are listening to Celeste by Roger and Brian Eno. Brian Eno played with Roxy Music and worked with U2. He also invented ambient music and the two brothers often create music together. If you like this, you might enjoy making music on the Bloom app, which Brian Eno created.
- Goodbye Song
Hello Song
It’s a time to settle down for some music and there are lots of ways to join in. Use it on its own or before doing another music activity.
- Join in and sing, clap, tap and move along to the song!
- Maybe you can try using your voice
- Sign hello
- Tap fast and slow
- Sign “Stop” at the end
- Have fun!
Words
Hello, hello
Very nice to see you
Hello hello,
How are you today?
Hello, hello
Very nice to see you
Hello hello,
How are you today?
We say “Hello”
We’re very pleased to see you
We say “Hello”(can you say and sign hello?)
We say “Hello”
We’re very pleased to see you
We say “Hello”(tap along with the music, sign “Stop” at the end)
More ideas with this video
- If you can’t tap along, maybe a friend can tap your arm or foot for you so that you can feel the beat of the music.
- Can you stamp your feet to the music? Can you tap your shoulders or your head? Move your fingers
- Maybe try playing along with a shaker, or tap something that makes a sound that you like. A box of cereal?
