Painted pebbles – Art

The painting of pebbles and leaving them around for others to find is something that is popular all over the world. Perhaps you could write a word or a nice message on a stone and then hide it either in your home or garden for a family member to find or if you are out for a short walk then for a stranger to find. When found it will make the person feel very happy and then they could leave it somewhere else for someone else to find and so it goes on. A never ending source of joy!

1st April PE Lesson

Hello everyone,

For today’s PE we’re going to have a couple of challenges.  First why not going for a walk? Walking is a great exercise for your body and mind and it’s not every day we have this good weather in Scotland. To make it more interesting we can agree some challenges with our family like, count the trees we see, count the birds, look for bears and rainbow in windows, we can even make it a competition who can see more birds, trees, red objects etc. Just remember you should always walk close to home (no driving) and keep social distance.

Another great idea would be to Join Vicky community group page we’re going on a bear hunt, just follow the link:

When you come back why not try to exercise on a chair/wheel chair we have some friends that have to do a lot of things on a wheel chair, I wonder how it feels, could you do it?

Follow the link below to a web page with some chair exercises and see which ones you could do, if some are to difficult don’t worry just do the ones you can.

Have fun and see you after the holidays.

Hi everyone,

Today we are going to learn about the sense of taste (I can taste with my tongue)

1- Start with Five senses song

2 – What have you tasted at breakfast/lunch today?

How did they taste?

  1. Sweet (like honey)
  2. Sour (like a lemon)
  3. Salty (like crisps and sausages)
  4. Bitter (like dark chocolate and cocoa powder)

3. Easter nest activity

Tracey had this great idea about cooking Science and I thought I would share it with you.  Can you make an Easter nest? Find the recipe below or use your own.

Ingredients:

  • 200g milk chocolate broken into pieces
  • 85g shredded wheat, crushed
  • 2 x 100g bags mini chocolate eggs
  • cupcakes case

Instructions:

  1. Melt the chocolate in a small bowl placed over a pan of barely simmering water.
  2. Pour the chocolate over the shredded wheat and stir well to combine.
  3. Spoon the chocolate wheat into 12 cupcake cases and press the back of a teaspoon in the centre to create a nest shape.
  4. Place 3 mini chocolate eggs on top of each nest.
  5. Chill the nests in the fridge for 2 hrs until set.

Taste it! Yummy!!!

Does it taste sweet or salty?

Enjoy.
