Gold Class – 05/06/20

2. Time for literacy and today we are thinking about words that almost sound exactly the same –  but be careful the first sound changes…can you match these rhyming words?

3.  Have a go at drawing a map of your favourite walk. If you like you can make a map of a walk that you’d like to take!

4. Snack time

5. Story time

7. Now pop over to Sign of the day from Lorna.

8. Have a look through the Pinewood recipe book Part 2 and find the recipe for scones. Find an adult to help you and get baking. I’m going to have a go too so we’ll compare them next time – don’t forget to take a picture!

9. Lunch time! Don’t forget to wash your hands.

10. ICT

  • Download Google Earth onto a device – get an adult’s permission first
  • Type in your address – ask an adult to write it down for you in CAPITAL LETTERS so that you can find the correct keys on the keyboard
  • Have a look and compare it to the map you made? Can you see anything you need to add?

11. Now pop over to Music to see what Connie has planned for you.

2, Time for some number work! Today we are counting to…20. Forwards and backwards! In jumps of 1, 2, 4 and 5 – but something odd happens when we count in jumps of 3!

3. Fiddly fingers – Make your own’ soft as a cloud ‘ playdough

5. Snack time – don’t forget to wash your hands!!!1

6.  Once upon a time these Aliens visited Gold Class and they stole our underwear number line!

7. Over to Lorna for sign of the day!

8, I wonder what Connie has for Music today! Pop over and see.

9. Sensory – Make a feely bag

  • You can use any small bag just so long as you can’t see what’s inside!
  • Gather some objects that can easily fit inside.
  • Make sure they all feel different – smooth like a pebble, rough like toast, squishy like a sponge, cold like an ice cube, soft like a teddy.
  • Hide them from your adult and, one at a time, pop them in the bag. Ask your adult to close their eyes, put their hand in the bag and tell you what they can feel. What words did they use? Did they guess what it was?

10. Let’s end today with a boogie! I’m sure Rachael has some fun plans for you today in dance.

2. Literacy

Today we are thinking about the sounds we can hear in words.

  • What is the first letter in your name? What is its sound? My name is Catherine and the first letter is C, what sound does it make?
  • Can you think of another word that starts with this letter sound? (cat/cup/car)
  • Can you hear the sound at the end of this word? sun. Hang on to the last sound as you say it.
  • Can you think of another word that ends with this letter sound?  (man/ tin/bun)

Now try these…

3.It’s time to pop over to Pedro and see what’s happening in PE

4. Time for a healthy snack!

5.

6. Lorna has a new sign today – I wonder what it is?

7,Now have a look at what’s happening in art today.

8. This is a super science experiment and it shows how the flower draws water up through the stem. If you can’t find any carnations try using daisies  – they’re everywhere at the moment – just make sure you choose some with long stems. If you don’t have any food colouring, you can always use Irn Bru or Coca Cola…I won’t tell anyone.  I’d love to see some photo’s if you manage to create a rainbow of flowers.

9. Time to relax while your flowers have a drink. Lie down somewhere nice and comfy and listen to some relaxing music.
