Go P6 Go!

P6 had great fun today carrying out their interval training! Meeting Liam Davie was really inspirational too.

Here we are in action, we were quite exhausted by the time we had finished 7 minutes later – perhaps we need to work on our fitness levels?

It was a big thumbs up from all of us!

Article 31

Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.

French is Fun!

Pupils are learning about different parts of the body in class. We have been singing , ” Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” in French as well as designing our own monster. This has let us use our reading and writing skills. We also used our talking skills when we described our monster to someone else.

We are looking forwards to finding out all about different types of food and studying the story of “Camille, la petite Chenille”- The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

P1 Party Time!!

Primary one had a busy day last Friday with their Christmas party.  Much fun was had by all with funky dancing, party games and party food.  There was even a special visitor who popped in to say hello and deliver some presents before he had to head back to his sleigh!  The children were so polite to Santa and even sang him a few songs.  Didn’t they look good?!

Bubblegum and Fluff

What? We hear you cry!

That’s what we thought until Darren and his fantastic team from the Lanthorn came along this afternoon to work with all the Primary 6s.

We learned that the ‘bubblegum’ is the true meaning of Christmas which can get lost with all the extra ‘fluff’ such as shopping, decorations etc.

We created our own tile with our chosen Christmas symbol and a number of children dressed up to help retell the Christmas story.

Have a look and see what you think!

St Andrew’s Day Ceilidh Event

What a busy week for P6! Monday evening saw us present our annual ceilidh event. The children presented their learning about who St Andrew was, how he became a saint and what we can be proud about Scotland for. We sang ‘Caeledonia’, ‘Half the World Away’ and a firm favourite ‘500 miles’. Witnesses did see Mrs Stewart reach for he hankies but this is still to be confirmed!

After our presentation we showcased our highland dancing – then invited our parents and carers to join in. It was really good fun and we received lots of positive feedback from everyone!

Thanks for visiting Primary 6!

Nikita loved the Open Morning as she had fun both doing the gym activity and performing in the choir.

Harry felt it was almost like a mini sports day!

Jaime particularly liked racing her grandad in the shuttle runs – Jaime won!

Amy loved singing in the choir and especially that she helped Mrs Stewart to shed a wee tear!

Beth Mc found it fun when her mum joined in with her on the step-ups- she might have sore legs tomorrow though!

Daryl liked listening to the choir but wondered when the whole school would get to hear them.

We were pleased with all the comments from the kind parents who took time out to visit us and watch us learn.
