OutRight 2021/22

This year, our school has participated in the 2021/22 OutRight Campaign.  The focus of the campaign has been children and young People’s mental health.  This was something we felt very strongly about participating in, particularly after the difficult lockdowns we had all experienced.

The children have enjoyed learning about the importance of their mental wellbeing, how it relates to their rights and what we can do to support mental wellbeing in school.  The children have been empowered to take actions and we have created a whole school mental health declaration! This is now on display for everyone to see and be reminded of the things we are doing and can do to help each other.

Rights Respecting Pupil Voice Meeting 1.11.21

We had a productive meeting today looking at Outdoor Learning and how this links to Children’s Rights.

The children had fantastic discussions about caring for the environment, COP26 and the benefits of learning outdoors for all.  Have a look at the minutes below.

Rights Respecting Pupil Voice Meeting – Minutes 13.9.21

The Rights Respecting pupil voice group met today for our first meeting.  Our group is made up of at least one volunteer from each pupil voice group and we have ensured there is a mix of children from all stages across the school.

Today we celebrated achieving the Silver award and spoke about our journey towards GOLD!

The children are keen to ensure the adults in class, in their pupil voice group and across the school, continue to discuss rights and help the children learn about them!
