Here is a reminder of your Block 3 Homework.   

Please choose one starter, one main and one dessert activity.

Starter

• Make a quiz based on what you have been learning about in mapping e.g. a flag quiz, a capital cities quiz, etc.
• Design a multiplication game that can be used to practise double digit multiplication.
• Approximately what fraction of the walls of your bedroom is made of glass? Write about what you did to find out.
• Make a poster demonstrating your knowledge of equivalent fractions.

Main

• Debates (Can be displayed in any form e.g. poster, PPT, etc)
• Create your own motion to debate.
• List as many proposing arguments and opposing arguments as possible.
• Remember to give reasons for your answers.

• Persuasive writing
• Write a piece of exposition writing to try and convince your teacher to allow you to do something in class e.g. Always write with a pen or change seats every day, etc
• Remember to include
• An introduction
• Arguments
• Conclusion

• Write about a famous Scottish person. Include at least 6 facts and opinions to tell us about them.

Dessert

• Create a French game demonstrating numbers to 100.
• Investigate a Scottish Architect/ artist and create something based on their style.
• Produce a 3D map of Scotland showing some physical features and locations of major cities.

We worked together to make a circuit in order to light the bulb.

We have been building circuits as part of our investigations into Electricity and we have learnt the different symbols for the components in the circuits we have made.

Decorated Door Challenge

P6B voted to use the novel Birthday Boy by David Baddiel to decorate our classroom door.  We all had great ideas and worked really hard to create it.  We are thoroughly enjoying the story as well!

We had great fun decorating our door to look like our favourite book Groosham Grange.

We had to work together  sharing ideas to work out the solution.  We had to use our knowledge of number, place value  and the four operations to identify the number.

Most of us thought it was very tricky but we persevered.

We studied the design of the Scottish Parliament Building and recreated the MSP Pods.

We made and cooked delicious pancakes.  We could choose butter, jam or Nutella to have on top.  They were delicious.

This morning we celebrated Kingsland’s 10th Birthday in the new school building.   We had mixed classes from P1 to P7 and were all with different teachers.

I enjoyed designing and colouring a cake for the school’s birthday.  Rana

I enjoyed the musical corners game even though I was the first one out.  Rayyan

I enjoyed playing charades at the end of the session.  Oliver J

I liked being in a mixed group and made a friend called Matthew.  Thomas

I was with Mrs Collins and enjoyed flipping and fish along the corridor.  Sam
