NL Symphony Orchestra

The Symphony Orchestra brings together the progressing string pupils with their counterparts in woodwind, brass and percussion.  Whilst playing in the orchestra the pupils are introduced to the world of symphonic music with its lush textures and unique sounds, where the pupils are given the opportunity to perform pieces from the rich heritage of the symphonic repertoire as well as more up-to-date pieces.

Rehearsals take place on a Friday after school from 4.15pm – 6.15pm in Coatbridge High School where the pupils work towards a Christmas Concert in Motherwell Concert Hall and a Spring concert held in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
