North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service App

Welcome to the North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service APP

This app will go live on Monday the 20th Jan 2020.

In order to improve communications between North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service and our pupils, parents & carers, a North Lanarkshire Music Service app has been created within the “school app for parents”.

It has come to our attention that, despite us providing a considerable amount of information on rehearsals and concerts in a paper based format, it would appear that this information is not always getting to the appropriate people.  Therefore, in an attempt to alleviate this problem and improve our communication channels it would be extremely helpful if all parents/carers, pupils could download the app to their smart phone or tablet.

The following information will assist you in doing this:

Option A: The app Store

Open the “app store app” on your tablet or smart phone & click search in the bottom rhs corner. Type in the search boxschool app for parents” & download the app. (Green in colour)

  1. Once downloaded click on the “school app for parents” and type in the search box

North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service.

  1. The North Lanarkshire Music Service app should appear from a drop -down menu.
  2. Click on this link and you are now ready to receive messages and information from the music service.

*Now follow steps 5, 6, 7 & 8 below.

Option B: The QR CODE

  1. Go to the “app store” on your tablet or smart phone & click search in the bottom rhs corner. Type in the search box “QR CODE READER” & download one of the free QR READER apps.
  2. Once downloaded, open the QR Reader app and hold the view finder square over the QR CODE printed at the top of this letter until the “school app for parents” appears on your device. Click on the “school app for parents” app and type in the search box North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service.
  3. The North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service app should appear from a drop -down menu.
  4. Click on the North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service link and you are now ready to receive messages and information from the North Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service.
  5. *Along the bottom of the home page click on the messages tab. At the top rhs, underneath the battery icon on the screen you should see a small funnel shape icon.
  6. *Click on this icon and a drop -down menu of all the music groups should appear on your screen that you can tick or untick
  7. *It is very important that you tick a: All NL Music Groups & b: the individual NL music group that your child performs in.

This allows your device to receive any messages directed to all the NL groups & individual messages directed to individual groups. Do not leave all the individual tabs ticked as you will receive messages sent to all the groups in the drop -down menu.

  1. *The app will alert you to any mail appearing. Please always remember to close down the app once you have read a message, to allow the app to reset & receive fresh mail.

If for any reason you are unable to make use this technology I would be grateful if you could contact me on 01236 812220 or email parkj@northlan.gov.uk and we will continue to provide you with all the necessary information via a paper based system in the method we used previously.

Thank you for your assistance and I look forward to seeing at our events that run throughout the year.
