Run for Katie – Aimee did it!!!!

On Friday 18th June, Aimee completed her 36k challenge (+ 2k extra, just for fun) in 3 hours and 19mins.  An amazing achievement in support of Katie Paterson and the Schiehallion Ward at the Glasgow Royal Hospital for Children.  Well done Aimee!  We are all so proud of you.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event – Aimee and her fellow runners from the School of Sport, CJ from Cobhop Creative LTD for supplying the banner, Holly from Bangin’ Balloons for her transforming our school playground and of course to all of you who have donated.  The Just Giving page will continue to accept donations until the end of the week.

Please continue to keep Katie in your thoughts and prayers.

Many thanks for your support.

Future Fridays

Future Fridays

Everyone is getting excited about the opportunities on offer through the Future Fridays initiative but we need to make sure young people and their families know what is on offer.

Every secondary school will shortly receive printed copies of the attached brochure.
The link to the FAQs on the council website is  32-Period Week Frequently Asked Questions | North Lanarkshire Council

From August secondary schools will finish at 12.30pm on a Friday but young people have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities on the Friday afternoon as part of the #FutureFridays programme.

Parents of our P7 cast your eye over what’s on offer.  click here. to open the brochure.

Run for Katie – Friday 18th June 2020

Our school is backing one of our former pupils, Aimee Anderson, as she takes on a massive challenge in support of one of our Langloan family.

As you may be aware, Mrs Paterson’s daughter, Katie, is currently undergoing treatment for a brain tumour and she has recently started 36 weeks of chemotherapy.  You will all recognise the positive impact that Mrs Paterson has on all pupils, past and present, and when Aimee heard about Katie she wanted to do something to help.  On Friday 18th of June, Aimee will run 1km for each of Katie’s 36 weeks of chemotherapy in order to raise funds for the family and for the Schiehallion Ward at the Glasgow Children’s’ Hospital, where Katie is being treated.

If you would like to donate please visit  Aimee’s Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/aimeeclaire-anderson?utm_term=XzwDmzN8V

As a school we are hugely proud of Aimee as she undertakes this gruelling challenge.  Our love, positive thoughts and prayers go to all of the Paterson family.

Many thanks for your support.

Wear Yellow Walk – 2021

It has been an incredibly difficult year for everyone,  with communities facing the many challenges of COVID-19.  Charities in particular are struggling following a full year of limited community fundraising opportunities.  To show our support for St Andrews Hospice, Langloan will be taking part in the Wear Yellow Walk on Friday 4th June.  This year we have decided to open the event to the whole school with children from P1-P7 taking part to maximise the funds we raise for the hospice.  Each class will have the opportunity to do their part and show their support.  If you would like to donate please click on the link to Langloan’s Just Giving page.  All donations go directly to St Andrews Hospice.

Many thanks.
