Social Distancing

Good afternoon,

Can we please remind all parents and carers to adhere to the 2m social distancing advice put in place by the Scottish Government when dropping off/picking up you child(ren).  We have received a number of phone calls from concerned parents regarding large gatherings on the pavement outside the school, making it difficult for people passing in the street or parents trying to gain access to the nursery gate.  Due to the current pandemic, North Lanarkshire Council policy is that no parents/carers are allowed in the school playground.  To help with the flow of traffic we have a staggered start and finish time to try and alleviate congestion.

Please help us by:

  1. arriving at the time slot you have been allocated for drop off/pick up.
  2. leaving the area promptly as soon as you have dropped off/picked up your child(ren)  Our school playground is manned by three members of staff, one in each zone, to supervise children on arrival.
  3.  avoiding gathering in groups whilst waiting outside the school.

We are aware that this is something new/different for us all but we need to all work together to ensure we are keeping everyone safe.  Staff are training the children to only step out of the gate if they see someone waiting for them.  They will remain in the playground if they cannot see anyone.
