This week in Room 5, we have really enjoyed all of our new learning. We learned a new sound in phonics ‘ea’ as in ‘leaf’ and 4 new common words, ‘each, ask, year, eat’. Our strategies to help us with our common words have been so helpful this week. For Numeracy, we have focused on counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, and are working hard to remember it by learning different songs and counts. In writing, we finished up our current focus of adding in ‘who, what and where’, and today focused on a harvest scene. We have all been enjoying completing maths tasks on mathletics and reading books on bug club on the ipads as stations this week, and have been trying really hard to log ourselves in and out of our account without help. We have started learning about our next topic ‘Knights and Castles’ and some of our tasks this week have involved us looking at the castles and coming up with questions. For Science, we will be doing Living Things and hibernation, and we cant wait to get started on that after October break.

Pupil Voice:

Kai: I liked completing my homework.

Aulay: I liked counting in 5s to 100.

Callum: I liked when we were looking at all the castles and asking questions like ‘why are they surrounded by trees’.

Dhairya: I enjoyed reading on the Ipad this week.

David: I liked doing homework and counting by 2s, 5s and 10s. I also liked drawing and asking questions on the castles. I also enjoy learning the common words.

Sam: I liked counting by 10s.

Shreyan: I liked learning the new sound ‘ea’.

Vidit: I enjoyed the chromebooks.

Mehraj: I have enjoyed learning about Castles.

Ivy: I have enjoyed writing this week.

Lucas: We were learning how to do tasks properly again.

Harry: I enjoyed P.E with Mrs Sheed.

Lucia: I liked building castles today with different legos.

Alice: I enjoyed doing our writing task today.

Harris: I like playing with Erland with the lego.

Katie: We have been learning about Castles.

Amira: We have been learning to count in 10s.

Amelia: I liked playing with the lego with Emily.

Cameron: I enjoyed playing with the magnetic tiles.

Matthew: Callum and I built a huge castle with the big wooden blocks.

Aulay: I enjoyed doing our writing assessment in our new pink assessment jotters.

Hridhaan: I enjoyed counting in 2s, 5s, 10s.

 

Reminders

October Break 12/10/26- 16/10/26.

Monday 9th November- In Service Day

Indoor P.E- Wednesday- We are moving onto gymnastics so please try to send them in trainers not crocs.

Outdoor P.E- Thursday. Please send them in with a jacket and trainers on, the temperature is dropping and we want to keep taking them out as much as possible.

Homework is updated on a Monday of each week, please note, there will be no homework next week due to it being the October Break. Any work that the children want me to see can be brought in at anytime!
