Good morning,

Room 13 have been planning to write a letter to Mrs Calder or Mrs Meechan to try and persuade them to make some changes in the school. Among the the chosen subjects were homework, extra play time, more school trips and not having to wear school uniform. Children were asked to give three reasons to support their opinions and I’ll share some of our letters in next week’s blog.

We started a whole class novel called the Hodgeheg recently as we model reading skinny novels and what the questions might look like from these types of reading book. We’ve loved thinking about how a hedgehog can safely cross the road and coming up with our own solutions to this problem.

In Numeracy, we have started time durations for one hour or half an hour before or after on analogue clocks. We have been listing coins that make certain amounts and will start working out change shortly. We have also been recapping adding and subtracting by 10 and 100.

Last week was British Science Week and we enjoyed a visit from the STEM leaders in the school to teach us about electricity. We also have been learning about the different parts of our eyes and ears during our senses topic.

Just a reminder that any decorated Easter Eggs are to be returned by tomorrow in their bags with the name label so we know whose it is. There is also the obstacle course event tomorrow that will take place in the gym hall if pupils who have completed sponsorship forms can bring them in.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Mr Dalling.
