Wonderful chocolate 🍫

Room 6 have been very excited starting our new chocolate topic this term. We have spent the last couple of weeks getting to know where chocolate comes from and what ingredients can be found in chocolate. We have been very interested in learning about the process of making chocolate and all the steps involved from the cacao tree all the way to being sold in shops. Last week we looked at these steps in detail and worked collaboratively in small groups to create a timeline that can be displayed on our chocolate wall. We had fun discussing the steps and recreating these.

Yesterday we had a lovely afternoon going to the library before completing some spelling practise on our new common words. We enjoyed choosing our own strategies to use to practise these words and had loads of different spelling strategies to choose from. We really loved doing the fancy writing and the robot writing.

Here are some comments from our learning this week:

HW – I liked doing the NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe activity.
DM, RF, NG – I liked doing the subtraction in maths.
OM, QO – I 100% loved doing the subtraction sums.
IR, BrM – I 100% loved watching the NSPCC video.
AS – I loved doing the homework.
ND – I 100% loved doing the NSPCC.
AbS – I 100% loved when we were learning about Buddy.
HG – I loved using the instruments and I really liked doing the music.
BlM – I liked using the instruments and learning the beat.
HH – I liked doing the instruments and hearing all of the different sounds.
Have a super long weekend when it comes!
