Hope you all had a lovely weekend !

Room 7 have been learning to spell words using the phoneme ‘ow’ (owl). Our words included: howl, growl, cow and brown. We used these to practise our handwriting, focusing on letter formation, including ascenders and descenders. Our IDL topic this term will be ‘Chocolate’. This week we introduced the topic, reading instructions on how to make chocolate. We listed the features of instructions then wrote commands using imperative (bossy) verbs.
In numeracy, we have been adding and subtracting using different strategies. We have drawn our own number lines and solved missing number calculations.
In science we began learning about materials. We discussed the difference between natural and man-made materials, played a classification game, and talked about their properties.
There have been many impressive builds last week, through play. Well done, Room 7!
Homework and reading books were sent home on Thursday (18th). Please bring reading books to school every day and hand in your homework by the following Wednesday.
Thank you !
