Our Week in Room 16 10.11.23

What an exciting week we have had in room 16!

This week we have been continuing to grow in confidence with our column addition sums or chimney sums as we have been calling them. The class have been trialling a different way of doing things for maths that has allowed all of the children to choose a level of challenge that works for them, well done to all the children who have been pushing themselves to solve 2, 3,  and 4 digit sums, wow!

We have been continuing to focus on our ie phoneme family sounds by writing short stories and continuing to read our class stories. We have also introduced metalinguistics into our reading tasks which has allowed the children to expand their vocabulary and understanding of their stories.

We have also planned, sourced information, and designed our own newspaper reports focusing on the 1969 moon landing, which has been a huge creative success!

For science, we focused on Guy Fawkes night and created chemical reaction fireworks using skittles and water, we enjoyed this lesson so much!

We hope you have a lovely weekend.
