Happy Halloween! 🎃👻

Room 6 have had a fantastic week preparing for Halloween and we were all very excited to dress up/down this morning to celebrate. Today we spent the morning reading the Halloween-themed story ‘Funny Bones’ and identifying our favourite parts of the story and why.

Throughout the past week, Room 6 have been working very hard to revise our knowledge of numbers to 100 and we have been using this learning to complete an assessment. We will be moving on to addition at the end of this week.
Alongside our spooky spelling, we got into the Halloween/autumn spirit by using our art lesson to design some silly/funny pumpkins. We really enjoyed cutting out different parts to make our pumpkins unique and individual. Have a look at some of our work!

Below are some comments from the children in Room 6 identifying what they enjoyed learning about throughout the last week:

IW  – I loved doing maths when we practised numbers to 100.

HG – I loved doing Katie Morag where we learned about family trees because I like looking at different people’s families.

QO – I liked when we learned about Katie Morag’s island.

SG – I liked doing the nurture competition where we designed a logo.

AS – I liked writing about what I did at the weekend.

AS – I liked when we got some active learning time.

MM – I liked colouring in the different numbers to work on remembering my numbers.

DT – I liked doing the ghost and pumpkin spelling.

JR – I liked when we cut out our pumpkins and made them funny.

Have a great night everyone!
