Newton Farm Primary School and Nursery Class

Our Week in Room 21

Nurture sharing assembly – during the strike days we wrote positive acrostic poems about ourselves and we shared them with P5-P7 at our weekly assembly. We also shared that we write comments in our maths jotters to let our teacher know how we are doing with our work, and to give ourselves positive, motivational messages when we go to do our next task.

WW2- We’ve started our new topic – World War 2. We learned about key events leading up to the war and created a timeline of these events between 1938-1940.

Science – We have been learning about eyes and we even have a model of an eye in the class! We looked at optical illusions and how they are designed to trick your eyes. We had a go at making our own and will finish these after the October holidays.

STEM – As you might know our class reading book is The House with Chicken Legs. In partners/trios, we built our own models of the house and our challenge was to make them stand for a minimum of 10 seconds! Most of us managed to do it, eventually!
