As part of the councils ongoing commitment to digital learning all iPads across all Glasgow schools will be replaced with new iPad A16’s. For our school this refresh has already started and will be complete by the October break.

In order for pupils to retain all their data they need to ensure they have their Apple ID (firstlastname@appleid.glasgow.sch.uk) signed in to their current iPad and all iCloud sync setting enabled. If you are not signed into your Apple ID please see Mr Adams up in the BECS department at lunch times.

When you are called down you will be supported in setting up a your new iPad, getting all your data back onto it and wiping your iPads to be returned to the councils digital team.

Digital assessments

‘In order to support our young people when tackling SQA exams, the Digital Learning team from GCC have been working with an external partner to provide a solution. After a great deal of work to this point, we are able to explain the support that has been put in place for our pupils who will be sitting SQA exams in April ’26.

From Aug ’25, the pupils in S4 will make use of Exam.Net for in-house assessments such as class work and prelim exams in Dec ’25. This resource will be widely used in school to allow the young people to be familiar with the platform as they move through S4.

As part of the wider work for the Pilot project, we will gather views/ data from everyone involved in this work – school staff, pupils, and parents/ carers. To that end, can I ask that you complete the following questionnaires. A follow-up version will be issued as the Pilot progresses.
