Study Skills Evening

We will be hosting a Study Skills Evening on Monday, March 18th 2019!!

The workshop will begin at 6:00 pm and run for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.  The workshop will be active and we invite you to come along with your child so that you can learn together.

The aims of this workshop are to increase pupil and parental knowledge of study strategies and to build confidence in revising for exams. We will also discuss ways in which we can support pupils coping with exam stress and pressure. The workshop will take place in the assembly hall and teas and coffees will be provided.

You will receive a free study pack on departure to help further these skills at home.

We will also have Bright Red Books attending to sell some of their revision booklets.

*A letter furthering this information has been sent out to parents of S4, S5 and S6 pupils. Please confirm your attendance either by email or the return slip. This will help us organise catering and the free study packs.

You can confirm attendance by emailing mailto:gw15rotheryemma@glow.sch.uk

National Anti-Bullying Week

Next week is national Anti-Bullying week (12th-16th November) and there will be a number of things going on in classes and around school to raise awareness amongst pupils and staff.

The S6 senior leadership team will be delivering a presentation on ‘Respect’ and what it means to pupils at assemblies this week.

Some of the junior PSE classes will be doing activities focusing on anti bullying as well as some work in certain departments.

The S6 team will have some stalls in the foyer to display some information and to talk to pupils who want to know more. They will also be selling some merchandise to raise money for the Anti-Bullying alliance charity who do a lot of work in schools to teach staff and pupils about how to deal with bullying.
